From the Fireplace to the Pool House — A Home Transformed Inside and Out

This project at Goldstream Heights covered a wide range of work across two years, touching nearly every part of the property. Interior structural changes, custom finish carpentry, a fully rebuilt outdoor deck system, and a pool house taken from drawings through to a finished, livable structure. It's the kind of project that requires steady coordination, a broad skillset, and a team that can move between structural work and fine finishing carpentry without losing pace or quality.

Inside, the work centred on a series of meaningful structural and finishing changes. We framed and sheathed a new fireplace and chimney, built a custom fireplace mantle, and carried out timber frame alterations in the interior to reshape how the space felt. The vaulted ceiling received new timber construction and ceiling finishes that brought warmth and height to the room. Hardwood flooring was installed throughout, interior doors were hung with full trim packages, and a six-panel wall door was installed as a feature element that anchors the transition between spaces.

Outside, the deck was rebuilt from the framing up, finished in a combination of tile and composite decking, and tied into the home with concrete stair and slab formwork. Specialty framing was also completed to accommodate a hot tub installation; work that requires precision around load, waterproofing, and serviceability access, and that has to be done right before the finishes are installed.

The pool house was handled as a complete design-build. We developed the design, and produced the drawings, and carried the structure through full construction to a finished state. That kind of end-to-end responsibility from concept to completion reflects the way we approach projects where the client needs one team to own the whole result, not piece it together from multiple directions.
